About The Center

Discipline

Cub Zone Preschool follows the guidelines from the Minimum Standards book for Daycare Centers from the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services in regards to discipline.  The children are taught by example through the use of fair and consistent rules.  The children are supervised by caregivers showing an attitude of understanding and firmness.  They are given clear directions and guidance based on the child’s level of understanding. Redirection is the first response when a child exhibits unacceptable behavior.  Time out will be used sparingly and the time will be age appropriate.  In any given situation, the caregiver will help the child understand why his/her behavior is unacceptable.  If your child is experiencing a change in the home environment that may result in changes in behavior at the school, it is important for you to notify us.  Also, we will notify you in the event of a behavior problem that exists consistently.

Daycare is not for everyone.  Some children respond better to more direct one-on-one supervision as opposed to being in a group setting.  Excessive classroom behavior that jeopardizes the safety and well being of the other children in the classroom will not be tolerated.  In such cases where we feel our staff cannot properly meet the needs of your child(ren), the director may suggest you seek alternative arrangements. Following is a copy of our center’s Discipline and Guidance Policy to review and sign.
